Nikki is our owner and new Counselor. She works during the week as a mental health counselor at Auburn University Montgomery Counseling and Health Promotion Services (CHPS). When she is not with clients, she helps with managing the office. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, master’s degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and her Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her counseling approach incorporates client-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, and humanistic techniques that are tailored to meet the unique concerns of each client. Nikki was born and raised in Texas where she met her high school sweetheart (now husband), Dr. Eric Bloch. They have 2 beautiful boys and 2 dogs. She loves to spend time with her family and eat good food of every type.

Katie received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. She obtained her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University. During her predoctoral internship at Southern Illinois University, she specialized in the DBT program and an eating disorder outpatient program. Katie then went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She continued working at SMU's counseling center, providing workshops on overcoming perfectionism and anxiety and eventually becoming the interim training director before leaving in January 2023 to join SSPCP. She has provided therapy and psychological assessment services in university counseling centers, a county jail, community mental health, and a psychiatric hospital. In her work with clients, she strives to create a warm, supportive environment where people feel comfortable opening up about what is causing them pain. Her goal is to help people realize their strengths, learn new skills, and develop a better, deeper understanding of themselves as they work towards feeling better.
Katie is originally from New Jersey and is grateful to live in a location that gets less snow. She enjoys walking, traveling, doing crafts, eating (but not making) food, and has terrible taste in TV shows.

Jennifer Day brings a diverse professional background and a passion for helping individuals and couples create meaningful change. Before becoming a counselor, she spent more than fifteen years in education and ten years in accounting and human resources, supporting people through academic, personal, and professional transitions.
Jennifer holds master's degrees in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Elementary Education. Her decision to enter the counseling profession was shaped by both her professional experiences and her own journey in therapy, which inspired her to help others pursue healing, growth, and self-discovery.
She works with couples, young adults (16+), and adults, with particular interests in relationships, life transitions, anxiety, self-awareness, and personal growth. She enjoys helping couples improve communication, navigate conflict, and build stronger, healthier connections.
Jennifer's counseling style is warm, collaborative, and direct. She believes many present-day struggles are influenced by earlier life experiences and relational patterns. She helps clients gain insight into these patterns while also providing practical tools drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address current challenges and create positive change.
Jennifer strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel respected and empowered. She believes therapy works best when clients are active participants in the process and is committed to both supporting and challenging them as they work toward their goals. As a faith-informed counselor, she welcomes clients from all backgrounds and is dedicated to providing an affirming, inclusive space for LGBTQ+ individuals.
Returning to serve the community where she grew up is especially meaningful to Jennifer. She is honored to support others as they discover their own capacity for healing, resilience, and lasting change.

I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Alabama who was born and raised in Texas. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Auburn. After my undergraduate education, I completed my Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Following the completion of my education I worked for several years at Auburn University before joining SSPCP. Through my training and work experience I have developed a holistic approach to the application of psychology which focuses on the interaction between mental and physical well-being. This approach to my clinical work allows me to help clients develop health in all aspects of their lives. In my free time I enjoy playing with my kids, working on classic cars, or cooking.

Mr. Melvin is by far the most dedicated employee at SSPCP. Without his tireless commitment to excellence, our operation would simply not be able to exist in its current form. We are all deeply grateful for his work ethic and dedication.
